3 Virtual Research Center "Dialogue and tolerance in conflict resolution"
The main idea of creating a virtual Center at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is to broadcast and promote the humanistic position of our country in resolving international and regional conflicts not only in organizations and countries that are friendly to us but also neutral and even unfriendly. The main task is to draw the attention of the international community to the damage inflicted on our cultural monuments by Armenia.
For a productive discussion of conflict resolution problems well-known philosophers, international lawyers, culturologists from diverse countries will be involved in the work of the Center.
The policy of multiculturalism, successfully pursued by President I. Aliyev, is primarily based on dialogue, which includes an open and respectful exchange between organizations/states, where the main goal is to achieve consensus among various points of view and practices, ensure equality and improve creative processes. That is, holding dialogues is of unprecedented strategic importance not only for peaceful coexistence in a common space, but also for ensuring that Azerbaijani realities and losses are brought to the attention of the world community, as well as efforts to prevent aggression, wars and violence in the South Caucasus region.
The purpose of the Center is to study the nature of conflicts, human and culture through interdisciplinary methodological positions in the context of the political challenges of the modern era. The study is aimed at forming an ideological basis for a peaceful geopolitical picture of the world, opening up directions, scenarios and strategies for achieving sustainable, comprehensive, harmonious development of Azerbaijan and the entire region.
Directions of research activity:
1. Philosophical and theoretical studies of the concept of dialogue
2. Reflection of multicultural values in the philosophy of Azerbaijanism
3. Universal values and national identity: a philosophical approach
4. Ethical and legal aspects in resolving modern conflicts
5. Azerbaijan in search of resolution of international and regional conflicts
6. Conflicts on social media
7. The problem of preserving the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus in the post-war period
8. The role of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Karabakh in Azerbaijani culture
Forms of practical activity of the Center:
- holding round tables, conferences, forums, presentations (the format of work involves online and offline modes);
- holding lectures, trainings;
- publishing activities;
- creating of a popular science channel on Youtube.
The Center invites like-minded colleagues, potential partners and sponsors to work together on the organization and implementation of projects (including international ones).
The activities of the Center have been carried out since December 2022 in 3 languages: Azerbaijani, English and Russian.
